"Waiting On" Wednesday is an event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. The purpose of this weekly event is to spotlight a soon-to-be-released book that you are very much anticipating. "Waiting On" Wednesday will also give bloggers an opportunity to share ideas for our TBR lists.

Title: Undeadly (The Reaper Diaries, #1)
Author: Michele Vail
Publisher: Harlequin Teen, 304 Pages (November 20th, 2012)
Add to: Goodreads
Pre-order here: Amazon, Barnes and Noble, The Book Depository

Synopsis: The day I turned 16, my boyfriend-to-be died. I brought him back to life. Then things got a little weird...

Molly Bartolucci wants to blend in, date hottie Rick and keep her zombie-raising abilities on the down-low. Then the god Anubis chooses her to become a reaper-and she accidentally undoes the work of another reaper, Rath. Within days, she’s shipped off to the Nekyia Academy, an elite school that trains the best necromancers in the world. And her personal reaping tutor? Rath. Who seems to hate her guts.

Rath will be watching closely to be sure she completes her first assignment-reaping Rick, the boy who should have died. The boy she still wants to be with. To make matters worse, students at the academy start turning up catatonic, and accusations fly-against Molly. The only way out of this mess? To go through hell. Literally.

Title: Who I Kissed
Author: Janet Gurtler
Publisher: Sourcebooks Fire, (October 1st, 2012)
Add to: Goodreads
Pre-order here: Amazon, Barnes and Noble, The Book Depository

Synopsis: She never thought a kiss could kill…

Samantha didn’t mean to hurt anyone. She was just trying to fit in...and she wanted to make Zee a little jealous after he completely ditched her for a prettier girl. So she kissed Alex. And then he died—right in her arms. Was she really the only person in the entire school who didn’t know about his peanut allergy? Or that eating a peanut butter sandwich and then kissing him would be deadly? Overnight Sam turns into the school pariah and a media sensation explodes. Consumed with guilt, abandoned by her friends, and in jeopardy of losing her swimming scholarship, she’ll have to find a way to forgive herself before anyone else will.

Two books this week. One with a beautifully haunting cover about a girl turned reaper and the other about a girl who's haunted an accidental death she caused and can't escape or heal from. I can't wait to read both of these titles and I'm excited that I have a copy of Who I Kissed that I should be reading soon. What do you think of these two books this week? Are you looking forward to these two? What books are you looking forward to?

  4. UNDEADLY seems pretty intriguing. I sense some cliches happening but hopefully it surprises me -- especially since you don't see a lot of Egyptian mythology being weaved in paranormal YA.

  5. I can't stop giggling at the synopsis of WHO I KISSED. Like really. It just seems like a melodramatic and unrealistic scenario - and this is coming from a gal with a fatal nut allergy.

I just kept thinking - what kind of a moron with a fatal nut allergy doesn't have an EpiPen on him? And anaphylaxis is not instantaneous - were they alone in an empty field? In space?

I dunno, sounds like she was weaning out the genepool to me.
